What We Offer

AEU PathwayAsian-European University now offers degrees to individuals who have gained professional and occupational experience. Life experience degrees simply means that individuals will earn a legal degree for what they already know. Life experience encompasses achievements in education, training, workshops, professional activities, on-the-job training, work experience, and even volunteer activities.

Individuals who can show that they have gained valuable experience will be award a life experience degree. When an individual has been recognized to have gained a considerable amount of life experience, the Asian-European University will award that individual a life experience degree and no residential classes or exams need to be undertaken.

Asian-European University will award life experience degrees to individuals who can show credible evidence of substantial experience or expertise in a specific field, but cannot afford to spend years in college or university settings to acquire a degree or diploma.

Due to the nature of the mechanisms of all economic systems in the world, individuals must show educational documents if they want to get jobs and/or promotions. Now the Asian-European University offers a solution for these individuals: life experience degrees. With life experience degrees individuals can finally get recognition for their skills and talents.

How We Assess Your Life Experience

Life ExperienceAsian-European University will select those individuals who may already have gained either basic or substantial experience which can be reflected in visible skills and/or professional qualifications. These individuals already know what relevant degree they require in order to further their professional development.

Asian-European University will evaluate the experience, education, skills, and other professional and occupational achievements and translate that into appropriate credits which will lead towards their online degree.

Hard Skills and Soft Skills

There are two main types of skills, hard skills and soft skills. Hard skills are the things that you do such as knowing how to operate different kinds of machinery; having detailed knowledge of a specialized computer program, the ability to type fast or ability to use different types of tools.

Soft skills are abstract in nature and include personal qualities; being a good team player, having the ability to work on your own, being enthusiastic or organized and decisive. Work out how you can describe yours and you will get the job.

This is a list of the important job skills a job seeker must have to be sure of landing a good job and just as importantly, keeping it.

1. The ability to find relevant information: Research Skill

2. Logical thinking: Information Handling

3. IT Skills: Technological Ability

4. Communication Skills

5. Organizational Skills

6. Interpersonal Skills

7. Ability to make a plan for your own personal and career growth

The education of applicants is another essential criterion for employers. Whether the application interview has gone well, it will not translate into a job without a strong educational background. You will not be considered as a serious candidate without a college degree, even if you have gained a lot of relevant work experience.

By acquiring an online degree through your life experience, you can have a chance to either change your current career, or upgrade your skills for your existing one.

Searching for a job or trying to get a promotion is never easy - but once you know what employers are looking for, you can make sure that you are well prepared so that you have a good chance at being successful.

How We Assess Your Work Experience

Work ExperienceAlthough skills may be gained through formal residential education in colleges and universities, many real life skills are gained in work settings. The work experience can include managing, supervising, but also typing or filing. Other skills can be related to the use of computer (programs) in which many hours have been spent on working with these office machines. Experience in the field of production, services, finances, accounting, supply-chain management, scientific research, teaching, writing and publishing, and many other experiences can all be translated in a life experience degree.

Business and Self-Employment

BusinessMany individuals are working very hard in their own businesses. They may own a business as a sole owner or with other partners. Many individuals are also self-employed by working for many clients, customers, and consumers. Many individuals are working providing a service from call centers, delivering packages, offering consulting services, helping other with counseling and alternative therapies, and in working to help others in volunteer organizations.

Learning in Informal Settings

InformalMany companies offer in-house training sessions for their employees. But many individuals also gain a lot of skills in an informal setting: on-the-job training, counseling, private lessons, correspondence courses and many other unspecified type of learning sessions. All these informal and also formal learning experiences are usually not leading to a degree.

Formal instruction is not the best way to learn.

We learn best when we are developmentally ready to learn. Children who learns to do long division at eight and children who learns long division at twelve are equally skilled at the age of fifteen.

Age means nothing when it comes to learning.

There is no single right age to begin learning any particular subject or skill. If a skill is learned at ten or fifteen, the end result will be the same.

More people become creative and effective outside schools

Teachers cannot deviate from standard methods of teaching: how to teach, when to teach, and where to teach. Students must be tested in the same way which is reductionist in nature. There is no room for creative teaching techniques. All children will be given the same type of education everywhere. In the end, children will become bored because the work is simplistic, unreasonable, and is being done to cater only purpose: getting good test scores.

These experts can teach many skills in mechanics, carpentry, medicine, history, bible, theology, religion, education, sports or any other field. Substantial experience learning from or intensive mentoring and coaching by experts in any field can be translated into academic credits.

Independent Learning through Books and Audiovisual Tools

IndependentMany individuals simply enjoy reading non-fiction books in a library. Others read the all the work of Shakespeare and know everything about it. Others again learn many soft skills like communication, negotiation, presentations, etc with audiovisual tools (television, tape recorders, VCD players, internet), All these activities may certainly lead to credits for a degree.

Many individuals conduct business trips or stay for an extended time in other countries or cultures, or participate in activities related to other countries, cultures or subcultures. Trips and visits can be made locally, regionally or abroad. Places visited might include locations such as:

Volunteer Work

VolunteerVolunteer work will include many things like community activities, political campaigns, church activities, working in service organizations, social service agencies or hospitals, etc.

There are an increasing number of people nowadays who are starting to get involved in some kind of community volunteer work. There are many communities all over the world that have such great needs and it is a sure thing that many people will connect with a voluntary charity organization and will get great satisfaction from helping.

There are hundreds of thousands of people each and every year who do volunteer work abroad and find that serving in other communities is very satisfying as well.

There are also plenty of people who do voluntary charity work in communities just around the corner or all the way across the globe.

More and more often these days, people are making great use of their vacation time to go to far off lands to participate in community volunteer work. Even though some might see it as a sacrifice, those who return from such volunteer work overseas declare upon their return home that it was the experience of their lives. They will treasure the memories more than any previous trips they had taken in the past as mere tourists.

In many cases, these overseas volunteer work opportunities mean that the participants will be building houses for residents of extremely poor communities, or digging ditches to bring water to the community, or trenches and pits for improving sanitary facilities.

There are also opportunities for overseas volunteer work that involve working in health clinics, visiting families to provide vaccinations, teaching English, or teaching other skills, such as cooking and personal hygiene.

After a year or two of service, volunteers emerge with new ideas and enter the job market with a distinct advantage. Many former volunteers report that potential employers and universities look favorably on their volunteer experience, and some volunteer programs offer the opportunity to get a graduate degree. Even more importantly, volunteers acquire skills, and test and refine ideas in the crucible of reality.

Here are the TOP SIX Career Skills which can be acquired by getting involved in volunteer work:

  • Communication
  • Leadership
  • Teamwork
  • Fundraising
  • Problem solving
  • Public Speaking

We accept students from all countries in the world without any limitations. All students will be treated the same and will be evaluated on an individual basis.

Q: Can I backdate my University degree?

A: Yes.

Q: Who approves student applications?

A: Asian-European University has a vast network of professionals and academics who are experts in their field. After the proper documents have been received from a candidate, a relevant associate will be appointed to evaluate your documents. This associate will use the criteria related to the skills, know-how, and experience in evaluating your requirement in obtaining a degree in your chosen field of study.

Q: Do you have any residency requirements?

A: Asian-European University is a private non-residential university offering distance learning educational services. For this reason, our university does not have a physical campus like a traditional tertiary educational institution. There are no geographical barriers for our candidates who wish to obtain a degree from our institution. Thanks to the world wide web, we can enroll candidates from all the countries in the world.

Q: Why does the Asian-European University offer life experience degrees?

A: We are fully aware of the many limitations facing individuals when they want to attend educational programs in traditional residential universities. These limitations can be in the form of time or finances or both. That is why we offer these individuals the opportunity to gain a degree through their life experience, skills, and know how. Many individuals cannot afford to leave their work or families, or both. Our university offers a way out for these individuals which is flexible, affordable, and efficient.

Q: Will my degree be legal? Can I include it on my resume/CV and other official documents?

A: To both questions the answer is yes. The degree is a legitimate life experience degree and can be used for the individual purposes of a candidate.

Q: Can prospective employers verify my degree?

A: Yes. All the records of the candidates who received a degree from our institution will be recorded by our academic registrar. This is the same procedure used by any traditional residential university. If an employer wishes to verify your academic records, we shall require your written permission from a candidate before we can release their academic records.

Q: Will my degree mention that I gained it through a "distance learning" or "Life Experience degree program"?

A: No. Your diploma and academic transcripts appear just as they would if you had graduated from a "traditional" university, meaning there is no mention of the words "equivalency," "non-traditional," "distance learning," or any similar expression on your degree.

Q: Is the Asian-European University accredited?

A: Yes. Our institution is accredited by the Asian Accreditation Council which has evaluated our university based on their criteria and guidelines. You can visit their website to gain a better understanding of their policies and guidelines: www.asianaccreditationcouncil.org.
